On time.
4 stars for Ireland. One for Scotland. Guide in Ireland was excellent. Gave 4 stars because some hotels had terrible views. The Royal Marine Hotel was in a ""bustling seaside town" but our view was in the back surrounded by buildings and the roof below. Scotland had one of worst tour guides that I have ever had. Drove through Glasgow for a "city tour" and he literally said nothing as he was busy reading a map to get to a museum. Never suggested to get an audio guide for many of the castles. In addition, we were located outside of the city in Edinburgh which cost us lots of critical lost time and sleep. The other CIE bus was located in the city. Not clear why we got the short straw as we did in Glasgow as the hotel we were supposed to start with made a mistake and we started in the Hilton which was located further away from downtown .Last shower was not warm and poor water pressure.
Food in Scotland was repetitive and bland (although service was always good and efficient). Ireland was great. The Atholl Palace Hotel served dinner with PAPER NAPKINS.
In short, would recommend CIE for Ireland, but not Scotland. The issue was not that Joe in Scotland was not a Scot, he was not good.
